چکیده
Uruguay occupies an area of special relevance for species terrestrial orchids the subtribe Spiranthinae because it is located in one largest continuous grassland regions Americas. The aim this study to provide a taxonomic from Uruguay. A total 22 distributed seven genera were confirmed country, representing almost half Cyclopogon (8 spp.), Skeptrostachys (5 spp.) and Brachystele (4 most representative. Additionally, new synonym dilatata (=Brachystele waldemarii) proposed. group was found all departments ecoregions mainly southeastern (Maldonado: 10 spp., Rocha: 12 spp. Lavalleja: northeastern (Rivera: 11 Tacuarembó 9 regions. Among ecoregions, “Serrano Forest” (17 “Graben de la Laguna Merín” (14 species-rich. Descriptions, illustrations, identification key, comments on geographical distribution are provided.

Phylogenetics of Cranichideae with emphasis on Spiranthinae (Orchidaceae, Orchidoideae): evidence from plastid and nuclear DNA sequences.
DNA sequences from plastid rbcL and matK genes and the trnL-F region, as well as the nuclear ribosomal ITS region, were used to evaluate monophyly and subtribal delimitation of Cranichideae and generic relationships in Spiranthinae. Cranichideae are moderately supported as monophyletic, with Chloraeinae and Pterostylis-Megastylis indicated as their collective sisters. Within Cranichideae, Pachy...
متن کاملRoot character evolution and systematics in Cranichidinae, Prescottiinae and Spiranthinae (Orchidaceae, Cranichideae).
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Previous studies have suggested that velamen characteristics are useful as taxonomic markers in Orchidaceae. Members of tribe Cranichideae have been assigned to two velamen types constructed based on combinations of characters such as the presence of secondary cell-wall thickenings and pores. However, such characters have not been analysed on an individual basis in explicit ...
متن کاملPhylogenetic relationships of Cranichidinae and Prescottiinae (Orchidaceae, Cranichideae) inferred from plastid and nuclear DNA sequences.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Phylogenetic relationships of subtribes Cranichidinae and Prescottiinae, two diverse groups of neotropical terrestrial orchids, are not satisfactorily understood. A previous molecular phylogenetic study supported monophyly for Cranichidinae, but Prescottiinae consisted of two clades not sister to one another. However, that analysis included only 11 species and eight genera o...
متن کاملPhylogenetic Placement and Taxonomy of the Genus Hederorkis (Orchidaceae)
Three plastid regions, matK, rpl32-trnL and rpl16 intron and the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 nuclear ribosomal DNA were used to demonstrate a phylogenetic placement of the genus Hederorkis (Orchidaceae) for the first time. The taxonomic position of this genus has been unclear thus far. The phylogenetic and morphological relations of Hederorkis to the most closely related genera Sirhookera, Adrorhizon, Bromh...
متن کاملDiversity and Taxonomy of Endophytic Xylariaceous Fungi from Medicinal Plants of Dendrobium (Orchidaceae)
Dendrobium spp. are traditional Chinese medicinal plants, and the main effective ingredients (polysaccharides and alkaloids) have pharmacologic effects on gastritis infection, cancer, and anti-aging. Previously, we confirmed endophytic xylariaceous fungi as the dominant fungi in several Dendrobium species of tropical regions from China. In the present study, the diversity, taxonomy, and distrib...
